Dear friends, family & supporters,
The pandemic has had a huge impact on the way we do everything, especially when it comes to travel. The current restrictions make it unfeasible to take a group to the CIMIV school in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic. But one thing for sure is that the Lord has NOT stopped working there. And he still wants to use us to be his hands and feet all over the world.
That is why VivaKids is excited to announce our first ever Virtual Mission Trip! Nothing can truly replace or replicate the experience when we GO AND SEE the work being done to break the cycle of poverty in these communities, but we are going to do our best to provide an opportunity to “GO” AND SEE this spring.
The “trip” is going to run from May 29 through June 5, 2021. Each day, there will be a video provided by the Mercedes family in the Dominican Republic that illustrates some aspect of their ministry. Details are still being finalized, but this may include a tour of the school, features on children and their families, interviews with teachers and staff, a “walk” through the community, a Q&A with the Mercedes family that runs the school, and more!
We have 3 projects that we are looking to accomplish through our trip. The first is a food drive for the children of the centers and their families. The second is completing the roof on the Mercedes family home. The third is to complete a kitchen at the Pan Y Vida center.
There are several ways you can participate in this virtual mission.
- Become a full-fledged team member for $500.00. Each team member will receive a team t-shirt and exclusive access to the trip content being created in real time.
- Pledge financial support of any amount. 100% will go to the projects mentioned above.
- Send this letter out to family and friends to help us toward our goal.
